A month ago, I bought from Digital Village via their internet site, a Behringer A500 power amplifier which when it arrived was faulty. The unit was distorting badly through both channels so I obtained a returns number and sent it back. Nearly two weeks later I have still heard nothing from them nor received a replacement item. I have attempted to contact them on a number they themselves issued but they just constantly ignore the phone. They now have 145 quid of my money whilst I have nothing. I have to advise everyone not to deal with them at all in the future.

    Some time later...

It's now three weeks and I've still heard nothing from them. They completely ignore e-mails and refuse to answer the phones. Next Tuesday I'm going to see my local Citizens Advice Bureau and contact the BBC's Watchdog program.

Hopefully you paid by credit card as this was an online purchase. If so, report the transaction to your credit card company - they are equally as liable as the vendor for purchases >£100 and far less likely to ignore the issue as they operate under a strict regulatory regime.

    Good luck!

    Alas...

I paid by Debit card as my credit record is a bloody shambles. In that respect both myself and SMEagol have a lot in common.

It's now been since the 10th November and I have still heard nothing from these idiots. I've had no replacement nor a refund. They still ignore e-mails and still refuse to answer the phone. This Tuesday I'm seeing the Citizens Advice Bureau. That should get things moving. In the meantime, I've ordered a Samson Servo 600 from Dolphin Music as a substitute power amplifier.

OK so I saw the Citizens Advice Bureau and they put me straight onto Consumer Direct. I have now e-mailed them with the relevent information and await a contact. Please... do not use Digital Village over the internet. You may regret it.
