Dirt cheap CD tweak

    Apologies if this is old news, but this tweak really works (on my Quad 67 CD player, anyway):

    One phono plug, one resistor, that's it. I found music had more life and body. Remove the tweak and things suddenly sounded flatter.

    Anyway, at this price you can try it yourself and if it doesn't work you've only lost pennies.

    tried it on my 840c, didn't do squat, but i do use blanking plugs normally,so maybe the effects are similar.

    Tried that one. Makes a small and subtle difference on my system. The higher frequencies (female singers upwards - if that makes sense) sound just that bit cleaner and clearer.
    Certainly worth trying for the sake of a few bob and 5 mins work!
