How about a section where the format is set (to keep things nice and uniform in structure). In the section people could put there favorite recordings, listing; type of music, composer/writer, performer, publisher, and a little bit (freestyle) as to why they like that particular recording so much. Over time we could have a 'library' of music that we could refer to if we heard something and wanted to find out more. It could be in the form of a spreadsheet that could be 'searched'. Alot of work, but would be nice and usefull. Cheers, Ben.

Sounds like a good idea Ben. Unfortunately people have very different tastes in music. I, for instance, would have to list over 50 cd titles of Bob Dylan for a start. I am not sure how others may react to this

The more the better, but the idea would be to have a reference for the best RECORDING of each work. So if you really rated a song or album or a symphony then the database would tell you what people thought was the best recording of that music. So it would say for example show:
    Gorecki / sym.No3 / Dawn Upshaw+LSO / Date / Record Label / Comment...... /
Gorecki / sym.No3 / Zofia Kilanowicz+Nat.Polish RSO / 12.12.03 / Lipinski Records / Good acoustics, conducted by Henryk Gorecki himself.
So if I knew I liked a song I could see what different recordings there are of it and perhaps try one some one else has recommended that I have not heard or did not know about.

In fact if you Google search the above symphony you only get referred to the first one I mentioned (Dawn Upshaw) so the combined knowledge and experience of everyone on this forum alone would be quite something. I think this could require a seperate server or even its own website if it was to eventually become 'complete' lol.
