Cheers hippy but I can't be arsed now.  Anyway, might be better if I don't hardwire the attenuation into the amp in case I want to use it anywhere else where it's not required.  Also, if I just bought any old resistors I'd probably end up with a channel imbalance and....I'm making excuses   - basically, can't be arsed
