Have been listening to Milight recently which is a great album. Also have Ki Oku and Cold Krush Cuts which are both fantastic albums. Anyway off the back of those gems I bought His self titled album from 1995 and its awful. Sounds so dated and the vocals on there are pretty bad.

This is something I've found quite alot on hiphop/turntablist albums that have female vocals on there. They seem to miss the mark slightly. I don't know what it is but they sound almost out of tune. A good example is some of the tunes on the Lyrics Born albums. The female vocals just grate a little bit with me. Anyone know what I mean!?

Anyway, was just wondering if anyone had any other Krush albums that have the kind of mature/stylish beats found on his later stuff. Was considering getting Meiso but not sure now.

Meiso is an excellent album: four tracks contain (male only) rapping, which is all first rate, intelligent stuff (esp. CL Smooth) - and there is also the great DJ Shadow collaboration track 'Duality'. Overall an album which exemplifies Krush's brand of 'dope beats', and I reckon one of the best albums ever to come out on the Mo' Wax label.

Kakusei is another great, laid back album, but has a couple of female vocal tracks, so you may want to try before you buy!

Considered by many to be his best album and a stone cold classic of the genre, 'Strictly Turntabilized' is unfortunately now 'collectable', so if you want it you need to fork out (especially on LP) - which is why I still haven't got it!

The other Krush album I can recommend is 'Holonic - The Self Megamix'.

I've not got "Krush", but I've a few others (Kakusei, Code4109, Ki - Oku, Mieso and Milight), he's not right for all occasions, but is one of them artists that in certain times, only he will do.

Well maybe I'll try his others then. Always dangerous to buy debut albums after hearing recent work by an artist as it can be so different. Meanwhile...anyone want Krush for a fiver+P&P!?

Thanks Cat but think I'll give it a miss this time. Doesn't look like my bag I'm afraid.

Anyone want to swap it for one of the other Dj Krush albums though?! I know I slagged it off but someone else might like it!
