    Quad I would imagine. Old School - probably a 44/405 and some Spendor BC1s ... and a Garrard 401

    Absolubtely.

Welsh Catholics actually (we were in south wales at that time) which apparantly is quite unusual.

His 5 kids were brought up as such and I was friendly with the eldest son for a long time. Interestingly HE STOPPED goign to church just before we left wales (he would have been 18 or so). Knowing how the kids had breen brought up I was highly surprised by this and ventured to ask him how his parents had reacted to this news; he said they were up-set ....but it couldn't be helped. I ahve know doubt he had thought it through.....he was a bright enuogh lad. Like he said it couldn't be helped.

I was speaking to God down the pub the other night and he told me he'd gone digital, and although he wan't sure that it sounded as good as his old Quad based system, it looked more contemporary and he didn't want to appear old fashioned. Of course, he was wasn't keen on the new smoking laws for obvious reasons, and thought Magners cider was crap.

Oh, hang on, that wasn't God, that was Bob, my apologies. Or was it?

Faith and conflict follow each other everywhere. Reason prevents conflict. Faith has no reason.

Why the hell would God need a hifi when he's got the likes of Coltrane, Lennon, Satchmo and Ella sitting there tuning up ?

First comment on a "cable" thread I've ever totally agreed with.

As a general rule of thumb I find 'born again' ones are the worst.

He's got ATC Cooky. I can think of a number of solutions that get me closer to God.

I think that it's a hifi forum that has had just about enough cable threads in the recent past, and doesn't need another one.

Good to see this one slide quickly and quietly into a completely different subject. :D
