I did too, until I read the band list for this music festival on the New Order site, Pulp are listed as one of the bands due to play.

Pretty sure they called it a day a few years ago too. Might just be a one off.

I thought Jarvis was now a resident of France.

    Hi,

Pulp technically haven't split up but are on the back burner. This means that they can pop up at any time.

Jarvis lives in London. He's been doing various things including DJing, working with Richard Hawley (Pulp guitarist) and with Nancy Sinatra.

Saw him with Nancy Sinatra on Jonathan Ross. Thought she was utter crap, couldn't hold a note.

They're a reasonably good live band. I've seen them at a couple of festivals and they're always worth a look, nothing groundbreaking but nothing wrong with that. Thought it was good that they didn't make another really radio-friendly album after Different Class though, This Is Hardcore had more in common with some of their earlier albums.

Is there a site, listing all future concerts planned at any venue throughout the UK?

    Thanks,
    Erik

    Try ticketmaster, or carling live.
You can type the venue into ticketmaster, and it'll tell you all that's on there

Thanks. Should have known as we've the same ticketmaster site over here. Instead I yesterday tried it with ticketservice.co.uk, which appeared to be an indicating site.

It sure is. With schedules that extend to the rest of the planet and a recent picture of Bow Wow Wow's Annabella!

"This is Hardcore" is one of the greatest songs ever IMO. Shame it sounds like it was recorded in a toilet.

The single edit has a few extra pleasent tracks, which also applies to Party Hard and Help the Aged edits.

    AT,

I just looked at the site behind your MIM signature, which is useful and inviting! 'Gig Listings' didn't display any performances for some reasons.

How often does New Order get on stage in Manchester and gives it a reasonable chance (through one of the sites mentioned above) to realize a ticket?

    Thanks

Yep I do have 100+ gigs on there but I only updated till December which is why no gigs are no longer displayed. I need to do some maintanance on the site and get an XML webfeed for the gig content, I have no time to type it all in manualy.

The design also needs a makeover but thats not planned till summer due to time.

New Order are currently doing the Virgin Mobile festival in August but thats not in Manchester, however Virgin also organise the Move festival which is in Manchester, I am hoping New Order will play that.

They last played Manchester in 2002 both at the Apollo and the MEN. As they have a new album out this year the chances of them playing Manchester are high, however the best place to see them in my opinion is probably the Apollo as you can easily get up front, these tickets will probably sell out in days though. I am checking constantly when they are next touring, and I am hoping to find out in the next couple of weeks their full gig schedule.

www.neworderonline.com is a very good source of information .

I'm sure you will post the outcome here. I would be happy to arrange a visit for this.

Looking back at bands that got raised in Manchester I was surprised to find out that the Bee Gees were not from Australia. :sheep: :

Somehow, Joy Division didn't got listed here, though B. Summer did.

Just having no problems to give Saturday Night Fever and Unknown Pleasures a spin on the same evening.

    Thanks for the explanation AT.
