Looks great, but I feel a little let down by the "mere" 420 bhp. :)

Though when Top Gear compared the 500 bhp BMW M6 to the the Carrera (with from memory 360 bhp) the Porsche better applied its muscle.

The RS6 has 450 bhp, but has two turbos, from what I can see the R8 has zero blowers.

Is that the one from that dodgy Will Smith film. Dodgy Will Smith film doesn't really narrow it down to any particular Will Smith film but I'm pretty sure the car was only in one of them :)

    I like it, a lot!

It is relatively low powered for a supposed supercar, but for Audi this has to be deliberate - remember they own Lamborghini these days, so they have to be careful not to tread too heavily on sales of the Gallardo.

The Gallardo has more supercar prestige than this, but then this is going to be a lot cheaper...so if they made it any faster than it is with 420bhp it'd probably rob sales of the Gallardo as much as the 911 (which is what this is primarily pitched at, rather than the more expensive and exotic F430/Gallardo/911TT).

It'll still be seriously quick though - Audi can do lightweight (the A8 is pretty light for its class) and it 'looks' to be a very compact design, which can only help its performance when you think how that translates into weight...

I guess "gorgeous" must have changed its meaning, the way "terrific" has done.

Sorry for sounding vulgar, but what's the price tag on this "gorgeous" thing?

You had had to ruin a good thread, didn't you?:D.

    Sorry SG, no idea.

Edit: Just Googled and it seems like it'll be £60-65k.

Striking, but typically lardy Audi - 1800Kg! And that's with a 'spaceframe chassis.

On the plus side nice to see no reliance on turbos for grunt.

I'm sure it tootles along nicely, but I have to say the overall appearance leaves me a bit cold. The 'aggressive' sports car look seems to be in fashion at the mo' (same as with most of the 4x4's), but I'm looking forward to a return to performance mated with graceful elegance......a bit more understated....easier on the eye..... ;)

Interesting how it's another Audi that has the comment of "and I don't care what you think". Pretty much sums it up really.
At least it's safer to drive a BM these days.
