I'm not watched much of the new Dr Who stuff, but I did happen by chance to flick over to it tonight - hilarious, just hilarious. It reminded me of old Vic and Bob (weekenders etc). Great stuff.

I real quirky one this week , but i enjoyed it all the same. Since Aunty breathed new life into the old doctor a couple of years ago i've really enjoyed them, I think that its the cheesyness of them i like the best. They know they're taking the mick as all of the ailiens are usually blokes in suits but it is great British teatime TV all the same, nobody else could do it better than the Beeb....

So who spotted the 'guess appearances' this week? There was the girl who played the ghost in Hairy Pothead, 'Louise' from Two Pints of Larger and Johnny Vegas… I think!

To cap it all, there was even reference to a blow job (ask if you missed it)

saw it this evening and think it was one of the weaker episodes so far - still good but not quite up there imho. i also think the constant references to torchwood are getting a bit intrusive.

I think the "don't you mean peter kay/e" comment was aimed at Tenson for mentioning Johnny Vegas. Not picking at the spelling.

Bring back Tom Pertwee !! :D

Seriously though, I'm not keen on this second Dr (in the new series that is), he's far too Sylvester Mcoy for my liking. Shame Mr Eccleston left.

On the point of regenerating Drs. Is it just me or did they change him really quickly ? I don't recall them changing a Dr so quickly in the original set of series. Then again maybe it's just because was a kid then and time seemed to pass so much slower back then :(

I agree the first dr. was far better. He had charictor. My mum loves this new guy though becasue he was in casanova.

They changed him because the first guy didn't want to do it anymore. I think he was afraid of being telecasted... umm I mean type-casted.

I've only watched a few of them since it's been back on, but have enjoyed them. I thought Christopher Eccleston filled the role well. I rate him as an actor in general really. Anyone seen Second Coming? That's worth watching too.

I think David Tennant is pretty good but I wish he'd have gone with his native Scottish accent - I know that Christopher Eccleston insisted he would only play it in his own Mancunian tongue. I just keep thinking of Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins when Tennant goes all "caw-blimey guvna"!

Still wonder what Alan Davies would have been like - he was really good as Jonathan Creek - as clever and quirky as you would want for Dr Who. Maybe the Beeb didn't want to take a risk with someone who's not a real actor.

I think that as we are now into the third millennium it is about time that a female should be the new Dr. Who but who should it be? I am thinking of Gillian Anderson - she is a serious thespian who could also build upon her X-Files role, any other ideas?
