yes, Channel 5 sillyness, but one of the funniest programs i've seen in a long time, with some really witty commentary.

    highly recommended:

On this occaision, it would have been good if Man Utd got stuffed, but alas no half shaft Scottish team is going to beat one of Englands best teams is it ! :JPS:

what's newcastles record like against Celtic?

Infact i'm sure I heard a figure mentioned during that game that it was the first defeat for a Scot's team playing in eng-ur-lund in 10 games or something!!!

You are of course trying to reel me in here. And yes I am of course taking the bait...

I do of course, have a theory for the good performances by Scottish teams in England....

Its a bit like when a 3rd division team plays someone in the Premier league in the FA cup. The sense of occaision lifts spirits. It must be nice for the likes of Rangers and Celtic to play some decent sides, instead of the other teams in the Scottish Premier division, that would be otherwise out of their depth in Division 2!! :D

    hmmm.... possibly.

Then it could of course be that the english teams buckle under the expectation(see Celtic beating liverpool last season)? Or perhaps even become so arrogant and believing in their media that they become complacement (see Celtic destroying blackburn away last season). Or perhaps just can't cope with a superior team! Even if that team is a weakned one (see a pretty much full strength Arsenal lucky to scrape a draw in one of their all time greatest players, tony adams, testiMOnial against a second string Celtic).

Man UTD gave Celtic a doing over last we played (pre season game in states). Other than that we've come off better in MOst of the previous meetings IIRC.

    Keep on firing them.... ;)

The Premier League is of course the name for the Scottish top flight. You mean the Premiership? Or did you mean an english 3rd devision team coming to play the Scot's top flight? ;)

I think Liverpool are buckling under the expectation their fans have of them, maybe if they realised that it wasn't the 1980's and Liverpool don't rule the world anymore and gave their team a bit of slack, they might actually make some progress.

That said, IIRC, Celtic should have had more than they did against them. Nothing better than seeing Liverpool beaten!

I though the fire breathing magician was the best, when he set his face on fire; "Not so clever now, are we Gandalf?" :D
