On the 10th November last year, I bought via their DV247 website, a Behringer A500 power amplifier for use in my sound system. I paid around 144 pounds including carriage and the item arrived a couple of days later. On installing the amplifier it was obvious that it was faulty. The amp was distorting heavily on both channels even at a very low volume. It was sent back within seven working days to Digital Village for refund. That's the last I have heard from them. They completely ignore all e-mails and refuse to answer the telephone.

Within the next few days I shall be contacting Consumer Direct for a second time to see if there is anything that can be done to secure a refund of the money they clearly now owe me. I paid them and have absolutely nothing for the money, how is this allowed...? I have sent them a recorded delivery letter allowing them 14 days to respond but in true DV247 style, they ignored that as well. All I can see is that this is going to take some time. You have been warned...!

I am having a similar experience. I ordered something from them on the 9th. I then had a change of plans about 2 days later and emailed them to cancel the order. The item was not in stock anyway so it should not be a problem.

I then got an email a few days later updating me of the order status saying the stock will be in soon. I replied and said again to cancel the order.

Yesterday still no refund so I called them. Talked to a girl called Rachel and she sounded very on the ball and said she will cancel the order and I should be refunded as soon as that is done, although the bank may take a while to show the refund. Today I check and still no refund and on their site the order is still not shown as canceled.

How do you cancel a flipping order and get ya money back?!

In the past, I will add, they have been great. I wonder if they are struggling with cash flow?

and their accounts are overdue. Naughty boys! A change of management sending things downhill perhaps? I've ordered stuff from them in the past (years in the past) without problem.

I've now put this into the hands of Consumer Direct who are taking out a civil action against Digital Village. If you choose to deal with these idiots, be warned...!!!

Tenson, unfortunately I made the mistake of paying out 145 pounds by debit card. Since last November I have emailed Digital Village around 13 times and attempted to ring them many times. They ignore emails and they ignore the phone. My only course of action now is court action. Of course this thread is now all over the internet and clear for anyone that wants to see it. I cannot understand now why anyone would want to deal with Digital Village DV247.com One thing is certain, I shall get my money back but it has taken three months so far dealing with a company I thought were one of the top UK music companies. I now deal with Dolphin Music and when I buy my next Samson Servo amplifier for bi-amping, it will be from them.

I have managed to get them on the phone twice, and they seem helpful and say they will sort it all out right away. But they just don't.

It seems to be a common issue at the moment as far as I am concerned. I placed an order with DV247 and had money refunded by my credit card company.

I then tried a company called puredj - same issue. Paid for goods that according to them were in stock... waited a week for delivery, nothing arrived. A dozen or more emails were either bounced back or not replied to. Many phone calls and only once did I get to speak to someone. Again, my credit card company dealt with it in a very swift manner.

I had a similar issue with a very well known UK pro audio supplier and posted my concerns on another forum - geared towards pro audio, and I was threatened by possible legal action if I did not withdraw my comments.

I too now deal with Dolphin Music, although they are slow to answer emails, at least you get the goods and they will 'price match'!

Mmmm... regarding the removal of comments, they can only do this if what you have said is not true. If your comments are libellous then it's always best to not make them in the first case. If what you have said is the honest truth, no one can make you retract the statement.

Yes I know the legal position - I decided with one of the mods to remove my comments, purely because I couldn't be arsed to deal with the owner of the company and we didn't want all the crapp thrown at the forum. I actually came across a thread on the Sound-on-Sound forum about this company, but by then it was too late.

I got my money back, I actually got a better product and service from Dolphin and I learnt my lesson.

Could be a good move for the sake of the forum. I also got a better deal. I found out that the Behringer amp I originally bought is a very poor amplifier and so ended up with a Samson Servo 600. My next move is to buy an NVA P50sa preamp and a Samson Servo 300 for treble duties. Finally I'll buy a new pair of speakers that are obviously bi-wirable. All of my future pro audio applications will be bought from Dolphin Music.

Yeah Dolphin are great - I also use KMR Audio and I think they are top guys! They give good advice, are always at the end of a phone for a chat and have some amazing kit.

The best thing with dealers who don't deliver, is vote with your feet and go elsewhere.

I've got to agree with that one MontyW. Regarding this other dealer, do you have a link...? I've never heard of them.

Mmmm... guess what appeared at my door this morning (09/02/2009)...? A Behringer A500 courtesy of DV247...!!! I told the courier to return it to the sender as there is a civil court action pending on this one.

Yes I had the item I ordered delivered to me as well! I had it returned. I then called them and they said they would give a refund right away as the tracking system shows it is on its way back.

    Nothing happened.

I called my credit card company and the refund was in my account the same day. :) I will be buying things on my credit card more often now, and resist using the debit card.

    Good luck with it Haselsh.

On Friday 13th February I received a call from Digital Village from a very, very apologetic Jo. She insisted that this had all been a big mistake and that a refund would be forthcoming.

It's now Tuesday 17th February and so far absolutely nothing has been paid back into my account. DV247 have until 24th February when I next contact Consumer Direct and proceed with a civil court action.

Just what the hell possessed me to ever deal with this shop...???

OK, it's Wednesday 18th February and the full amount has been credited back to my bank account. I now have to inform Consumer Direct of this so that they can put a stop to the civil court action that was going to proceed.

So, it took from the 10th November 2008 to 18th February 2009 to get a solution to a problem that was totally created by Digital Village DV247...!!!

Sorry to hear what you've had to put up with, but glad it seems to have been sorted now.

Did you get any sort of compensation, or just your money back?

Crap service and I'll aim to avoid them in the future.

Hey MO! Other than the apology over the phone last Friday there's been no form of communication with these people. They have ignored around twelve e-mails and countless phone calls. All I got was my money back including postage.
