Anyone heard the new contour range yet?

I am looking forward to seeing them at Bristol on Saturday.

Heard the 1.4s briefly at the local dealer, not long enough to form a good impression but not immediately anything better than my 1.3MkIIs. Not a big fan of the new look though :(

Don't know about the stand mount (ie the 1.4) but I like the new look floor standers. I am particularly interested in the S3.4

The problem with new Dynaudios is that it takes ages to get the buggers burned in and sounding right.

I thought that has aways beena problem with the Dyns'. Used to own a Contour 1.3 and gave up and sold it in the end cos, I didn't have the money for a decent amp.

But I now have the monster Rotel RB1090, which hopefully will do the job.

I think by "new Dynaudios" Paul meant Dynaudios which were new and not specifically the new models.

I got my Contour 1.3MkIIs second hand after they'd already been run in :) - but yes, lengthy running in is a problem with Dyns.

    Ta Michaelab,

You got my meaning absolutely right. Just shows how precise you have to be on these forums to get your exact thoughts over to people.

Perhaps the thing to do is buy a pair of new Dyns, put on a CD on repeat, and take an extended holiday. If the neighbours don't like it well, hell, you won't be there and burglars will think there. is a party on .

I've heard all the range - 1.4 3.4 5.4 and they cetainly all need driving, but they look likely to be quite exceptional. The other bugger thing (outside the burn-in) is the price hike over the original contour range. I have the 3.3 contours and although not cheap the price inflation for the equivalent 5.4 is several thousand.

I like the look though, although they are quite big cabinets.
