    Hello Amir

    I have had a pair of S5.4 for just about a year now. My room is 10m x 9m and they are driven by a Bryston 3bsst amp. I am very very pleased and have no negative comments at all.

    They do need a bit of power to drive them and a small room wouldnt be the right thing but other than that, they are excellent.

    Buy with confidence..

    Your room is 10m x 9m :eek: - that's some room! I thought mine was large (12m x 4.5m).

    Are you saying my equipment is sub-standard? What makes you comment on it anyway? I was only replying to Amirs request for information on some speakers that I happen to own.

    I really think that is totally uncalled for. :mad:

    John - you'll have to forgive wadia-miester's little jibes, he does it to everyone. I suspect his comment was aimed at me in any case ;)

    To honest I had grave misgivings about joining this forum. I joined when there was a bit fight going on about Motorbikes.

    I dont contribute often, for exactly this reason. I doubt I will bother much in future :(

    james,

    the approved version is 'bel-endo'.

    also...
    squeezebox = (the obvious) shitebox.
    wadia = wankier
    naim = shame
    ATC = POS
    arcam = arcsham.
    chord = bored.
    meadowlark = meadowfart.
    NOS dac = POS dac.
    Omiga audio = Oh My God Audio

    please stick to the approved insulting versions of the kit's name. that way we all know where we stand.

    cheers

    This is the sort of thing that is making me not want to bother with this forum. Amir wants to talk about Dynaudio Contour s5.4 and the regulars just take over with there normal slanging matches.

    Goodbye all I think it is best if I leave you all to your childish arguments.

    John, you'll get childish slanging matches on every forum (at least the one's I visit). Please don't be put off by them and leave. It shouldn't stop you offering real valuable advice to guys like Amir. I'm sure he can plough through all the childish crap to get the info he needs.

    OTOH, you could always PM him, but then others can't learn from your experiences.

    John,

    try contributing over at hifiplus.org.

    Any stupidity as often seen over here and elswhere will get stopped relatively early I suspect.

    It's the problem with these places, they are simply platforms for sad little boys clubs to argue amonst themselves whilst taking the piss out of anyone wishing to join. Sad but true. No use to any balanced individual.

    This thread is a prime example of why I don't bother anymore. And I admit to having been one of the main protagonists. But it's sad when discussing hifi on a hifi forum becomes a source of ridicule.

    Merlin retires as of today. Quite glad really. Hopefully the real Michael will be a little more understanding and friendly, and give honest advice only when asked for it. Not a bad goal for some.
