My current setup is a Dynavector DV10x4 on a Rega RB300/Gyrodec into a Michell Iso. Amp is an Art Audio Quintet (EL34-based integrated), speakers are Klipsch La Scala.

No real grumbles about the Dynavector, it's got a nice lively sound, way better than my mates Ortofon IMHO.

I'm weighing up replacing the Dynavector with a Benz Micro Ace because a) the Benz has got a good reputation, b) I've seen one going cheap, and c) I've got a mild dose of upgrade-itis  .

Has anyone heard both cartridges? Any idea whether this would be a sideways move rather than an upgrade?

Doesn't the Benz Micro Ace come with different output flavours? i.e. 0.5mV, 2.5mV & 5.8mV?

Which one are you going for?

Doesn't the Dyna 20x come in at a similar price to the Micro?
    Also worth a look...

Yep, it's the middle one that I've seen.

TBH Thrudge, if you've seen it "going cheap", could you not try it and sell it on for little or no loss, if you don't like it?

I don't have any experience with Benz carts (in fact, Benz is on my "boycott" list because they're distributed by Audiofreaks, but that's another story..), but I've only heard positive things about them.

Seems worth a bet if you ask me.
