Just sold an old pair of boxing gloves on eBay. Clearly stated that postage costs were UK only, and a bidder should call me about international rates. Now someone has won it and is in Texas. Guess what? He didn't call me. He got the gloves at £7.50, a reasonable price. Total cost including shipment is £45 - more than I paid for the bloody things.

He will now pull out, and no doubt leave me negative feedback. CRETIN. :grrr: :inferno: :saw: :beat: :laser: :chair:

Parcelforce quotes £36 to send the package state side + the cost of the gloves and packaging. Problem is that the box will be quite large compared to the mass of the gloves (only 12oz jobs) so it's going on so-called 'volumetric weight', rather than the actual mass of the item.

If you know a courier that will send 'em cheaper I'm happy to look, quire frankly I can't be bothered to put myself out for the twerp at this stage. He should have contacted before bidding. RTFC is what I say.

Miles from everywhere but very near perfect.
I've just received a 890 gm/ 1Ib. 15 oz shipment from Kentucky US via Airmail with a total cost to US Postal of $18.10 or less than 10 quid.

Where do they get £36.00 from? What is the total weight of the shipment ?

Are they Charlie Chaplin type gloves with a 2 lb. Horseshoe in each ? ;)

If I understand you correctly I would use the smallest box possible, then tell him you send it by boat instead of air, takes longer, but still I guess £28 odd for the states is still quite high. But he should still pay, just bill him and see what happens.
