Every time I click on something on ebay, or refresh an ebay page, I'm getting a download box opening asking if I want to save or open eBayISAP.dll

    Anyone care to educate me?

Nope, but you're not the only one with this prob - it sounds like it maybe linked to your browser or version thereof, or firewall, or something.....try reading this for clues:

    http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/425800-dll-problem.html

That file is something to do with your login I think, it's included in the url at the sign in page....

I've been getting a few failed pages and the odd browser problem message avery now and agin jst reacently. I find that hittig the back button and trying agin usually sorts it out.

No doubt some criminal element is doing something from a grotty flat, in a grotty country somewhere and trying to raid the worlds biggest marketplace somehow....

Hmmmm... this should definitely NOT be. IIS ISAPI filters should NEVER be visible to web clients. They're kinda like 'behind the scenes' servants who do specialised things, sort of like one's waiting staff, doing things in advance of regular page operations*.

Perhaps the servers on which IIS is running are straining so much that they're doing freaky things...?

    JOhn

    * IIS ISAPI filters are powerful, fun beasties and not nearly as difficult to write as one might think... perhaps Ebay can give me the job of fixing it up good and propers, loike.

    John,

That's interesting, is this something a potential hacker could exploit then? And would the fact it has suddenly become visible point to dodgy business?

That should affect all users though I would have thought, at least whenever the servers are 'under strain'. Sounds to me like this is more likely a minor issue with Mo's settings somewhere.

Well, it seems to have fixed itself.

I'd had a few pages not loading properly too. I'd get a message about things had been updated so might not disply properly and I should update my browser....

I've only just set up this pc. Clean install of the OS and Firefox.

    Seems ok now though.
