From 24-bit/352.8kHz (8X oversampling) to 24-bit/705.6kHz (16X oversampling)... and approaching wrap speed!

    - "Mr. Spock, take the BurrBrown PCM1704U-K Enterprise to Music Galaxy.

    - "Hi, hi Captain Kirk!

    - "But Captain, are you sure this old "shipset" can handle it?

    - "We'll see, Mr. Spock... We'll see..."

    - "Is this really necessary, Captain Kirk?"

    - "Music Galaxy is light-years away from us, we'll know if we get there..."

    - "That's why we call it Enterprise!"

    - "Sampling rate now increasing to 16x, Captain."

    - "OK, Mr. Spock! Let's take our seats..."

    Penance,

I don't have a fixed number... how much are you willing to spend for a new condition Eclipse?

I see in your advert in audio.online.pt that you've said your reason for sale is "upgrade"...so what's the new source, my old Marantz CD50SE perhaps? :D

The new Andromeda isn't even out yet and I'm sure that BD wouldn't buy one of them anyway allthough the thread title is a little misleading.

Ah, I see. I wonder what the replacement to the Eclipse will be? Considering the level of satisfaction expressed by BD for the Eclipse it ought to be a pretty serious machine.

More to the point, why's BD mucking about with CD players? He really ought to find a replacement for those god-awful speakers first...

I'm pretty sure that BD's "upgrade" from the Sim Eclipse will be a late 80s or early 90s Philips/Marantz multibit CD player which has been tweaked by Tube Dude ;) .

When and if I sell the Eclipse for a fair price (otherwise I won't sell it), I'll let you all know what the upgrade will be...

Now that SimAudio no longer have representation in Portugal (and therefore no one to carry out warranty repairs locally) I should imagine it will be a lot harder to sell here for a good price...

    Michael,

You can see from Simaudio's dealers web page updated on 14/02/2005 that Portugal is still listed among the international export countries:
