    Hello all,

I am looking for some cheap £25ish speakers to replace my Eltax Millenium Mini's for my home cinema front speakers (I want binding posts)

Second hand isn't a problem and smaller would be better, ideally wall/shelf mounted if possible.

Saw some Heybrook HB1's for £25 but the seller won't post them!!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Urm, err, well, there's always the Acoustic Solutions ones in Argos for £19.99! I bet they're both a) shite sounding and b) spring clip terminal'd though....

I managed to get some broken Kef Coda 7's off ebay for £10 which hopefully just need soldering.

    Thanks

If you can stretch to it don't richers do those missions for about £50 odd?

They're FEKKING EXCELLENT speakers as well - at least, in the context of my mate's (mish mash!) system - I was gobsmacked when I heard them....

I recently got a quite acceptable old pair of Wharfedale Delta 30's to put in the bedroom off ebay for £25. (and an amp for £9.50 and a CD player for £12.50 - for a fifty quid system its quite amazing ! - at least as good as a couple of hundred spent at Richer Sounds) Speakers seem to be the hardest of the components to find there though, there's a lot of rubbish..................

I noticed the number of unbranded speakers on a buy-it-now, does anyone actually buy them?

Am hoping the Kef's won't need much repairing but still cheap even if I need new tweeters

TBH I would only buy stuff on ebay if I knew what it was going to sound like (or at least have a reasonable idea). The Delta 30's just happened to be the first set of 'Hi-Fi' speakers I ever bought, back when they first came out (1988 I think !).....

BTW, has anyone tried any of the cheap Chinese valve amps for sale there ?

Yeah, the mission m71i's £60 from richers, absolutely fantastic budget speakers. Lots of PRAT and impressively deep for such tiny speakers.

    Ultra :)
