    S**t their new album's a real grower.

Has anyone seen them live (?) as they are playing Vicar St, Dublin in Nov and I'm trying to talk myself into going.

Not seen them live but cast of thousands is really good too. Wasn't so keen on the first one though, too much filler

saw them live supporting pj harvey @ the eden project a couple of years' ago.
"soporific" is the word that springs to mind. not much of a stage presence.

I guess their music isn't really what I would call uplifting, Guy Harvey has an interesting voice though.

I am liking this album more than Cast of 1000's which has too much loud bit - soft bit - loud bit, etc for me.

I have seen them live but I have never really got it. I always regard them as a poor man's Doves.

Saw them at v festival a few years back. I may be wrong and maybe i dont "get" them, but my friends and I found them comfortably one of the most boring inexciting acts we'd ever seen.

I was pleasently suprised by the Doves album. It had been around the house for a while but I'd never bothered to give it a spin. There seemed to be a few bands all coming out at the same time and sounding very similar and bland. But having played their album a few weeks back, it was certainly much better than expected. Some nice variation on there with some good tunes.

You mean Some Cities? I have not got the album but I have a couple of singles from it on 7" viynl. I should get the album really.

I think what I didn't get about Elbow was it was a bit dry, it seemed to lack rythem.

Having said that I am sick to the back teeth of the Pounding!
