Personally I'll be voting Lib Dem. Mainly because a really good Lib Dem showing and a hung parliament is the only way I can see this country actually getting a fair electoral system, so I can vote Green without completely wasting my vote.

I'll do the same, through gritted teeth, on the basis that though the Lib Dems are probably no better than the others they should at least be given the chance to prove it.

Just done the political quiz in the Times and was about 3mm away from the Green party.

Probably go for Lib Dems - don't like Bliar and his stance on Iraq and the fact we will probably go and help George W atempts to go into Iran.

Compared to many nations in the world, voting conservative, liberal or labour will make not a jot of difference. Rather than vote for any of three equally bad candidates I would rather cast an anti-vote against the BNP.

I shall be voting for the candidate who will best serve my interests in the constituency where I live. The resultant government will be an accident consequent on that action.

There's an idea - antivotes. instead of one vote we could be given two votes and an antivote. The antivote cancelling someone elses vote. That way the BNP might wind up with a negative score.

Hmmm... Labour probably, although I'd be much happier doing so if Gordon Brown were in charge rather than Blair. I don't like the idea of voting for Tony after the Iraq fiasco, but fancy a Conservayive government less.

Please tell me you're joking about the Lib Dems being in power.

They would raise taxes even higher and waste the revenue on a load of barmy ideas.

And they'd sign us up to the Euro without delay and regardless of the implications.

At least they'd be tough on crime... hang on, no, they wouldn't would they.

I have this nightmare of millions of people voting for the Lib Dems as a protest or as part of tactical voting and then on May 6th we wake up to find these bunch of clowns trying to run the country. And that is even more scary than the current rabble continuing to waste OUR money for another term.

What ever happened to that lot who hopped around on their knee's? Did they not practice tantric sex and said they'd provide free yoga for everyone??

I'd really like to vote Lib Dem but I'll probably end up voting Labour as I always have in the past. I'm really furious with Tony about Iraq and other things but if there's one thing certain to be far worse it has to be the Tories so the Lib Dems are the only credible alternative.

Unfortunately the UK's grossly unfair electoral system means that in my case a vote for the Lib Dems would only help the Tories as my overseas vote counts in Hammersmith & Fulham (the last constituency in which I lived in the UK) where the Lib Dems are a poor 3rd. As a result I have no choice but to vote Labour, much as it will pain me to do so.

    Michael.

You're thinking of The Natural Law party. They have changed via some mystical process into this lot:

There speaks a well off man with a social conscience who can't bring himself to vote for the party that helped to create the wealth he now enjoys. In fact the very car he drives couldn't shout Thatcherism any more if it tried ;)

Seriously though - I can't see why you are allowed to vote as you won't be affected by the tax rises that are no doubt around the corner. Unless you are coming back I guess.

    matt,
actually i'm not opposed to paying more taxes - as long as they are used well - mainly in education, healthcare and social care. i've lived in a country where low taxes were the populations mantra and found it a sickening place. as for the euro i think it would ultimately be good for the economy however it would be painful at first.
    cheers
