they been coming into my hotmail account for about a week now- random girl names, followed by fw fw

i'd just ignored the first 5 and deleted, then i got tired, and tried to get rid. opened the email up, and it says you can unsubscribe from these emails and some crap about getting rid of bills  by clicking on the link. oh dear. blue screen 'starting memory bulk dump'. I try the old ALT+F4, CTRL ALT DELETE, Windows start button etc none seemed to work. 2 seconds later, press reset switch on the comp. Nothing happens. I leave it 5 minutes and listen to a bit of Faithless, and switch on the pc. fingers crossed, everything seems to be ok atm.

so just a warning, cos that blue screen didn't look healthy!!

Get a mac, you won't experience these types of issues.

I think you might have been had, and garyi's "schadenfreude" might be premature :)

There are plenty of joke programs in e-mails like that which make it look like you're system is crashing but it's really just a simulation to scare you. It would be very difficult to force a real blue screen dump.

They are getting very clever though. I got one of those Home-page hijackers at the weekend - no matter what I tried, I couldn't change my home page or explore my C drive. It's all sorted now, but was a real pain in the arse to get rid of.
