what does the 900 do better than / more of than the 800? is it just flashy new clothes and a 15 second video camera or is there more to it?
    cheers

You can get the video camera software (from Philips) for the P800 aswell and they've recently released the "Pro" version for the P800 which allows you videos as long as your card memory will allow.

Main advantages of P900 are 65K colour screen (instead of 4K colours), flip now has real buttons instead of ones that press through to the touchscreen, very slightly smaller overall, bigger screen (esp. in flip closed mode), looks a lot cooler.

It's really only the improved screen that attracts me, the rest is really only a very marginal improvement over the P800. I have to say I'm tempted at £395 but I really can't justify it. My P800 is still great and I've had no probs with it at all. In the last few days I've noticed how extremely "drop" resistant it is  - not even a scratch after dropping onto the pavement (several times :shame: ).

I'll wait a while longer before upgrading :) . If I was looking for a new phone now though it would be a P900, no question.

    Michael.

    micheal,
thanks for that. the 65k colours would be quite attractive i guess but as i don;t use the flip keypad 'real' buttons wouldn;t make any difference to me. i'd agree, they are surprisingly robust gadgets. certainly it's the only thing i'd consider changing my 800 for but at current prices it just isn;t worth it but if i had a boggo nokia i'd bite merlins arm off.
sorry for hi-jacking your thread merlin.
    cheers

No worries guys, I have enough contacts to be able to move it:D

I just knew some of you were fans and it really is sooo much better than the P800 (which I found too clunky):D

    Plus V Rally is killer;)
