Ok to kick off I have now got some ERS cloth. What:confused:

Yeah OK, it's a cloth right, that looks like a dishcloth and you would think was designed to clean your taps with:D

For those in the know (WM and others), it's fantastic at destroying the negative impact of RFI. Only costs about $25 per sheet. And a sheet goes a long way. One of the few products where less is more;)

Simply stuck on top of my Woolworths mains block powering my TV and AV system, the improvement is picture quality is amazing. Again placing a sheet between transport and dac has the effect of lowering the noise floor substantially.

Now I know this should be in the DIY forum, but seeing as all you need to do is put this stuff on top of your mains supply or components, I reckon those of us who are technologically challenged should know too;)

Real Buffs are wrapping transformers and other components in this stuff. But for most, simply slipping a sheet on top of their transport or mains block will be suffice.

there is a UK distributor but they are somewhat overpriced;)

It's a fine tool in he aid of improving sound quality, but place it closer to the source and man it's good, there are 3 types, plain sheet, Sticky ( and Tape for winding round cables) un sitely but good. not that I use any of course :) WM

Andy, I don't know where Merlin gets his from in the UK, but I get my direct from the states Cryo-Tweeks, but they do tend to frown on anything less than 4 sheets though (will deal for less, but they get grumpy), plus postage about $24 (for a fast 4 day job) else about 4 weeks :( . You can even put around the wall plug sockets, thats very interesting:cool: WM

could you use it inside your integrated cd player? say, to separate the DAC bit from the transformer and the transport bit?

Miller, I'm afraid that it'as only available from the UK importer, and he's asking £60@sheet :( I have accquired mine in the past from the US however yesterday I recieved this e-mail from the suppiler

    Tony,

I wish I could sell the ERS directly to you, but I am bound by an agreement with Stillpoints not to sell in the UK. Evidently the distributor their has sewn up an exclusive arrangement with them.

I can sell them just about everywhere else, and whatever the buyer does with them (or where they send them) after they purchase them from me is their business.

Anyhow, I won't have any in stock until late this week or early next week. I have had a bit of a run on the stuff the last few days. I can't really explain why.

    Regards,

So if we say to antonio we'll have 40 sheets then we'll all divvy up. WM

The problem is Hodge old boy, that there is confusion at the moment:(

Stateside, a 8"x11" sheet goes for about $20. Trouble is, no one will ship to the UK as we now have our own distributer, Overkill Audio.

I think they sell 6" x 18" sheets at about $45, but you would need to ask them the price.

It's worth remembering that a sheet goes a long way, even a 2" x 3" patch on your mains block can have a real affect. The drawback is that you will play around for ages trying to get the maximum effect, and it is possible to overdo it.

Is there any way to get some feedback in the positioning/testing process - like hold an untuned radio nearby to see if the hash is reduced? Come to that, has anyone tried that with and without the sheet in place?

It's no wonder that your imagination, when used to select an eating house, extended as far as a Beefeater:D

Well this distributor stuff is quite lame isnt it. Basically it's just restricting competition, and I'll bet it's not just this wacky cloth stuff that is affected by this sort of thing. Pure profiteering. I would encourage everyone to avoid buying this stuff from UK until the price is forced back to a realistic level by market forces.
