a quick google didnt give me any results.

I ordered some Ecc82's for my Basie pre-amp (http://www.diyhifisupply.com/diyhs_basie.htm) from CVC.

I've been having problems with microphony, and have tried about 3 different sets so far, all tested reputable makes.

The Ecc82's are apparently from a german company called 'RH'. CVC test them and these got their premium grade for microphonics. I especially like buying valves from CVC, because they run a good series of tests and measurement. Not a duff one yet.

A worrying moment on switch on - they glowed very brightly for a few seconds ... 'oh-oh' Im thinking.. but then, fine. They do this every time the pre-amp turns on (?) thats a new one on me. Still slightly worried by it.. ever had that?

Well, absolutely NO microphonics, even when you tap the amp near the valve bass plate.

    only 7.50 a pop plus p&p too.

So very satisfied from a microphonic and sound standpoint, but worried about the x-mas tree glow on switch-on.

    hmm

I've seen other tubes do it before, I think its just inrush or something. Wouldn't worry about it too much.

When the wiring in the valve is made, sometimes a few stray shards are left. It is these which are glowing on switch on. Nothing to worry about, and it will diminish in time.
