    did you say goat ?......

everyone has to start somewhere .......you can get very pleasurable sounds from even the humblest kit with a little effort.

There's no reason to feel bad about not having an expensive psycological disorder such as Aural Hi-Fisis.

    Enjoy your music.

Interesting that you all assume your systems are dramatically superior to Doomjeffs and it's not a case of being the other way round.

you know, that could very well be.

Jeff uses Ruark speakers (which are great IMO), so he obviously has an eye for taste.

Of course it's possible that they are not assuming but have seen Jeff's kit list.

Please note that I'm not commenting on Jeff's hardware.

Didn't assume that at all. I'm very sure that my system isn't in the upper echelons of some of the people around here.

I think what is very nice though is that people don't seem to have that snobbery around here. It's not like as I would imagine a guy with a Vauxhall Nova posting on an Italian Sportscar forum.

I think the very nature of all the different combinations of kit makes it all interesting regardless of price.

    Jeff,

come back, take off your coat and pull that comfy chair up into the sweet spot.

It's about the 'sound' we aspire to, not the means of how we achieve it, and after a spell out in the (multichannel) cold reading here and occasionally contributing is a great way to get / keep up with gear trends. I don't post often, but I read all.:bookworm:

    Enjoy.

Well, it's the sort of thing people like to keep quiet about.

I like Chorley - but I wouldn't go so far as to describe it as 'in paradise';)

And I'm not Chorlian - a man has to have some secrets:eek:

Doomjeffs, £400 will get you a used CA Azur 640, Rotel RA-01 and a pair of Revolver R16's that when put together will provide a very nice sound that you would struggle to discern from your average £2k system. Save your money. You'll need it to pay the mortgage one day, trust me!
