A mate lent me this the other day.

I've played it a couple of times and rather like it. It'll obviously appeal to fans of Radiohead who want to hear alternative takes of the tunes, but pretty much every track is good in its own right too.

Quite a few of them are laid back chilled (summery even?) loungey type takes, and others a MOre full on.

    Well worth a listen....

    1. Shawn Lee - 'No Surprises'
    2. Randy Watson Experience feat. Donn - 'Morning Bell'
    3. SA-RA feat. The SA-RA All Stars - 'In Limbo'
    4. Pete Kuzma, Bilal - 'High & Dry'
    5. Mark Ronson feat. Alex Greenwald - 'Just'
    6. RJD2 - 'Airbag'
    7. Matthew Herbert feat. Mara Carlyle - 'Nice Dream'
    8. Lo Freq - 'Blow Out'
    9. Meshell N'Degeocello, Chris Dave - 'The National Anthem'
    10. The Bad Plus - 'Karma Police'
    11. Sia - 'Paranoid Android'
    12. Osunlade feat. Erro - 'Everything In Its Right Place'
    13. Wajeed feat. Monica Blaire - 'Knives Out'
    14. Cinematic Orchestra - 'Exit Music (For A Film)'

I'd not heard them before so can't really compare it to anything they might have previously have done.

It's an instrumental take which starts off (well, the first 4-5 of its 7 or so min's) quite quietly as a loose/free jazz thing, hinting at the original with piano, bass, and rolling cymbols and soft drums.
Without knowing the original and having it as reference, it might come across quite scrappy, but it works well.
It builds to a bit of a chaotic end.

From the sleeve notes they've got quite a few albums.

Its been on my to get list for a while now. The pitchfork review of it is quite funny given that it is complete and absolute bollox and doesn't really mention the album in any part of it. Genius. Buying it just for that.
