    F/S : Audio Note CDT-2 & RA Power Cord + XLR Digi

    SOLD

Here it is, the chance to own a very rare piece of Audio Note equipment : The CDT-2 (or the 'Teapot' as I prefer to call it :D ) !

The CDT 2 Transport is a rectangular brick (shoe box sized) in extruded, ribbed aluminium. The aluminium face plate houses an oblong, multi-function, vacuum flourescent display and at the back we have AES/EBU and 75 Ohm digital outlets.

This is a manual load machine with the much celebrated Sony/Phillips CD12 pro mechanism. Discs are secured with a magnetic puck.

A lot of attention has been put into reducing power supply noise and interference; such as a pair of in-house designed/produced copper wound digital pulse transformers and Black Gate capacitors for every application on the circuit board except one.

There is also no de-jittering circuitry and no downstream digital processing  but fear not for this transport is as fluid and natural as they come. It has great timing and quality imaging to boot ;).

The unit is 3 years old (Serial No. BB0005) and comes in a matted aluminium finish. It has some small cosmetic scratches on the casing but is functionally immaculate. It has been used in a smoke and child free environment :D.

I will also happily include a Russ Andrews Yello PowerKord [1m, un-terminated] with the unit and a digital cable to suit your DAC connections. For those utilising AES/EBU I have a LAT DI-20 MkII XLR or for those who use RCA connections, I have a QED SR75.

I am happy to split shipping costs 50/50 and will use FedEx Insured. The unit will be double boxed and I'll even include batteries with the remote :D.

Retail in Europe for this unit is a quite frightening 3,500+ Euros  .
Needless to say I'm a little more realistic in my assessment of it's value and would be happy to part with her for SOLD plus 50% of shipping.

If you're seriously interested, I have some actual pics of my unit as opposed to the 'stock' one I have posted here. Please feel free to PM me with questions :).

Please check my Audiogon feedback with confidence: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/feedview.pl?user=Voodoo .
I have also purchased several items from resident Zerogain members with no probs:

I'll miss this unit when it's gone :( as it's given me hours of aural pleasure and looked great on top of my equipment rack but it is of no use to me now. Hopefully it will find a worthy home.

    Cheers,

    Steve

So Steve, I take it the LAT cable you recently bought off me didn't do the business for you with the Wad?

btw, you have permission to use my photo of the LAT :D

It's a good cable but I have another on the way as well. It's certainly a huge improvement :) over the QED SR75 [Pre to Amp] I was using  [imaging, reduction of digital graininess, PRaT etc] but my actual reason for purchasing it was to include it with the CDT2. I'm planning a little tet a tet between the LAT, my Zen mc2 and the new one when it arrives (if I still have the LAT/CDT2 that is.)

The one which works least with the Wadia and TACT will be included with the Audio Note. Which ever way it works out, the cable included with the CDT2 will be pretty good.

Word of mouth would have it that the other cable is pretty good. I'll shame no names though ;).

    :WMarrives :.

    :shame: . Ooops.

    Cheers,

    Steve
