I don't think the number of cars affected really comes into it.  Why should Bridgestone be penalised simply because they only happen to supply 3 teams?  I don't really see that there was a viable alternative to what happened.  I'm still astounded that a world class company like Michelin can't bring a product that will last the distance to a world class motorsport event.  For heavens sake what about a backup (lower performance) tyre???
