OK, not a film, but I've been working my way through a few Family Guy DVDs lately.

The Simpsons has always been a clear leader for cartoon comedy, but it's getting harder to call between Simpsons and Family Guy.

Loads of huMOur and some of it will have you close to tears with laughter.

Any other fans out there? Has the Simpsons met its match?

Only real annoyance with the DVDs is that there's no "play all" feature.

Yes I got a few of the dvds for my birthday, very funny. And yes the DVDs are annoying :)
I think it did meet its match, and some of the futuramas were funny too, I reckon thats why they got cancelled- simpsons is worth too much money to fox and the other two were starting to invade on the turf. Shame.

    Family guy is brilliant!!!

when wondering why he was up for promotion at work..."Maybe its because I can say all 51 states in a qtr of a second?"...."khghk"

I really dont know why that one got me, I was crying fits of laghter for hours after:) Just thinking about it makes me laugh.

Peter (after Lois tells him he's childish): "If I'm a child that means you're a pedophile, and I'll be damned if i'm going stand here and take this from a pervert."

    Stewie is the best....

Lois: What's going on down here?
    Stewie: Oh, we're playing house.
Lois: That boy's all tied up.
    Stewie: Roman Polanski's house

I think the funniest MOment for me was when Peter's being asked his name. Trying to come up with a fake one he looks around and sees a Pea, the a Tear.... then a Griffin flies past.

    Genius!

I think Family Guy dares to go where The Simpsons doesn't - it's got a bit more hair on its balls! The Simpsons has become a bit too conservative in its most recent seasons, probably in order to maintain its popularity with the general public, and as such Family Guy (and not forgetting South Park) provide far more scathing satire.

Isaac, how does the film compare to the series? Can they keep it going for long enough to make a full feature?

Shame on you for taking so long to get hooked!

    Series 4 now on DVD

Looking at the amazon reviews though, seems it's still running on tv (up to about 24 episodes), so this is only part of the series... sorry, "season". Might be worth waiting.

    Anyone seen it yet?

I have half of the latest series on dvd from the states - pure comic genius. Now they have come back they have more freedom and its even closer to the knuckle now.

"Look! I'm writing obscenities on the wall!"
    He's written Poppycock

I bored of The Simpsons some time back. I always thought Futurama was a far superior series anyway. Family Guy kicks The Simpsons ass - much more geared for adults, daring, irreverent and politically incorrect.

What does everyone think of Seth MacFarlane's other creation - American Dad?
