How glad are you of having that wood stove? Thankfully I was at parent's place over weekend, but now freezing a wide variety of body parts off...

kind of glad we have it - though its not functioning right!!!

still waiting for the installer to get back to me ref checking it out -we dont have a cowl atop the chinmey and things aint worked too well since a recent vertical rainfall presented us with a sooty puddle under the stove......so i think there may be a sooty blockage further up the chain....!!
local news last night said we might not be back on until nearer the weekend.........given we are at the opposite end of the village to where the main burst that could be right - seems they are refilling the main in small sections so they wont reach us till then end of that line.....
until then its 2 duvets on the bed, microwave meals and showers at the gym!........
ho-hum - just so long as its sorted for the 18th or the wedding preparations will be cold, very cold........

did you notice it was actualy warmer outside this morning!!

thus far we have made do with the microwave, toaster and kettle - the oven / hob both being gas.....that will change as and when we get a fitted kitchen!

believe reconection started yesterday, given they have to go into each property to restart appliances it could take some time to get round everyone.
If you get home to find an 'engineer called' card behind your door i'm told you have to go down tothe parochial hall (behind the church) and they'll arrange for an engineer to call round.......

ho hum - next time i'll buy a valve amp - they must give off more heat that the sodding fan heater we have.........

I haven't got any pilot lights, so they shouldn't need to get in (meter is outside)... Did you get my txt message?

Got your text - presume you got my reply.
How come you are so cold if you have no pilot lights - i was kind of presuming you have a gas fired bioler which will have a PL or auto ingnition? Gas hob / fire?? either way they have to get in to make sure everything is working correctly, thats the law these days. Presumably also stops large writs if they fire the system up but some poor sole have left something in the on position.....

Latest update - things are coming back on stream but they tried Cars Road yesterday (the Old New Inn Road) bu got no pressure in the main...!! at that rate it could be weekend before we are on.......

Mine was back on at 5pm yesterday. Boiler is auto-ignition... they did have to get in it turns out, but neighbours let them in, so was warm again yesterday. If you have need of shower/bath facilities let me know.
