Faulty Marantz CD5400

    Hi There!

    An elderly friend of mine asked me to pop round today as he had cable problems, while I was there I noticed he was no longer using his Marantz CD5400 CD player he had bought from Richer Sounds about 18 months ago.

    I asked him where it was and he said 'in the shed'. Turns out the CD player has developed a life of it's own, CD drawer just keeps opening and closing by itself.

    Anyone else come across this problem and any ideas what it could be? Maybe faulty chip?

    Any help to repair this would be good.

    could be the micro switch that senses draw position ....had it with other cdp's
