One my favourite F1 drivers along with Ronnie Peterson.

Ferrari's lost hero. Has it really been 25 years?

Fantastic driver. Car Magazine (recently) tried to recreate his regular drive from home in Monaco to the Modena factory. With autostradas and a ferrari 599 couldnt even come close to his time between the 2 venues.

I had my piccie taken with him in the pit garage at Silverstone just after practice for the British GP - 1977. Wish I still had it.

    Welcome back S&M.

Indolent. Didn't Giles Villeneuve and Jody Scheckter used to share a Ferrari 400 driving from Monaco to Modena and vice versa? I remember reading about their very close shave when Giles (I think) lost the backend of the 400 and came very close to hitting something at a very high speed. Somehow Giles kept control of the car and once they had regained their composure Jody apparently asked Giles why he left such a wide gap between the car and the apex, "must have been at least half an inch".

I must admit though that it has been years since I read the book and my memory is a little vague.
