    Hi

I've not long put a new harddrive in and thus had to reinstall Firefox.

When trying to view something, it's saying I need to install Macromedia Flash Player. No problem, just click the link and install the missing plugin.

Nope, doesn't work and prompts me to do a manual install.

Manual install takes me to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

But when clicking the Download Now option the page doesn't load. This has been the case for a few days now.

    Anyone else had problems?

Can someone try the link and try clicking the Download Now option and let me know if it works.

    Cheers

    MO :)

    Dude,
    it downloads OK with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
    with the following extentions loaded;
Adblock Filterset.G Updater, Adblock Plus, Copy Plain Text, InfoLister, NoScript & PDF Download.

All I can suggest it to try once more on the Admin account after first starting Firefox in Safe mode ie no extentions.

If that does not work then look at this MS Security Update
MS06-020: Vulnerabilities in Macromedia Flash Player from Adobe could allow remote code execution have fun!

    Thanks for the reply :)

    There's no extensions installed.

The only thing I can think of that's changed is when getting the new harddrive, the reason was that one I'd been using for XP was too small to install SP2 and various MS updates.

They've been installed on the new one.

I'm also since unable to get future downloads it seems....

Something about being the victim of software couterfeiting

MO, if the Flash FAQ can not help you then this might indeed throw some light on to your other problem, other than that I'm out of ideas.
