Just a quick pointer here. Check out the links and delve a bit into the fishonline site to clue yourself up a bit on what the story is with fish.
A friend of mine recently hit me with the idea of what uproar there would be if we trawled the serengeti catching everything from snakes to elephants as we do the oceans without using half of it for various reasons and screwing up the habitat behind the nets as we go. Just because its underwater the devastation is ignored. People prefer cuddly lions to slimy tuna.
Anyway, not all fish is bad...just got to be sensible when buying it...i.e don't buy cod from your average chippy.
    Food for thought anyway.

Fish have a fundamental flaw, they aint cute and cudly, well most arent. I like my fish, I keep Koi Carp, Tropicals & am starting a Cichlid tank. Its disgusting what we do to our seas but very few care, the long-term future of our fish stocks is seriously under threat. Like you've said, we can be sensible. Fish such as tuna, salmon, trout, hoki & talapia are very easy to breed in captivity, we dont even know where Cod go to bread yet we kill them by the ton. People dont give a rats ***
