This new model in the Electra Range was conceived for those who wish to for that room filling musical prowess, without the usual interaction problems associated with larger speakers.
The 1037's are not just a pumped a 1027, oh no! They have a glorious character of their own that just oozes poise and passion.
Scale never before heard at this price point and beyond, coupled with ability to portray the music with realism and stature.
For a speaker of this size, they have an amazing ability to truly disappear, whilst generating a superbly deep and cavernous staging.
Dynamic headroom and bass response are class defining, matched with a seamless integration of the drivers leaves that you breathless with the large scale classical pieces and stadium rock. The bass response/ integration/extension are quite spectacular for a speaker of the price bracket and size.
Yet their poise and openness will captivate you with their ability to place instruments with delicacy and finesse' giving the 'Full picture' of the performance with no fuss or drama. Just as it should be.
These beauties are capable of giving a wonderfully musical experience with a wide variety of equipment.
They work superbly with valves to (know really!), with an sensitivity of 93db coupled with a 8 ohm nominal load they can produce some quite magical sounds with thermonics too
Having tested the 1037 BE's with a 30watt stereo power of renown as well as 70 watt mono blocks, the flow and groove and there in spades with a surprising amount of tight/coherent bass (with oodles of texture!!). Extremely musical too!
In the flesh, you are presented with a beautifully styled cabinet, built with loving care and pride. With the quality of finish that is amongst the best currently available today.
The 1037 be stands some 6 inches taller (Just over 49") than its small brother, 2 inches deeper (15.75") and 1.5inches wider at 12"
Due to the extra cabinet dimension and braces it tips the scales at 52kg's.
New drivers were also designed to meet the requirements of this model.
A completely new 7" w-cone sandwich driver and suspension system, plus a brand new motor assembly drive red from Focal subwoofer technology
3 drivers per speakers are employed in the 1037 be.
New x/over design and lower x/over point 230 Hz as apposed to the 350hz on the 1027's keep the bass suitable taut and incredibly powerful, yet never over blown or out of step with the music, great texture and presence are generated by these speakers too.
A new front one piece grill (form the bass array) is employed on the 1037's (as opposed to separate covers for the 1027's
The same tweeter (IAL) and 6.5" mid range driver are also used.
All this adds up to a defining loudspeaker that will redefine your thoughts on music reproduction in class and way beyond.
