I bought some okish gin last year and it was nice - bottleneck - thats the link I used when making mine...

I normally make a small batch now and anothe rlater on in the year...well, its what I done last year - but the first batch wasn't that good - not enough berries and drink was quite pale - but still tasted nice...!
got about enough berries for a couple of bottles in the freezer just now.
in fact we only finished off a bottle that we had less than a month ago... :)

Can't believe you've got any sloe gin left from last year, all ours was gone by new year, and I made two litres of it! (oh, but it was goooooood!:D).

Loads of sloes round my neck of the woods, waiting for another 2 or 3 weeks before picking tho'.

Blackberries have been thinner on the ground, quite patchy, and when we went out on a shroom hunt we came back empty handed.

Took the missus and kids on a sloe hunt last night and picked exactly the right amount for a litre and a half of sloe gin. Since we moved house we can now walk straight out onto fields and along the river, it's wonderful.

The apple tree in our garden has been so fruitful that we've been leaving box after box of apples out the front of the house for people to help themsleves to, and as we're now in a village instead of town they don't even end up being chucked all over place by kids :)! Someone even returned with a home made apple cake for us to say thanks.

There were a lot of blackberries around last night too, I was thinking about doing some blackberry vodka :D.

yeah, that's what I like about rural life - you often see produce for sale outside of farms etc with a small tin just for the money... :)
