    ....perhaps this will help:

A definite candidate for the award of must ludicrous hyperbole about a piece of hifi gear ever.

BTW, bear in mind the forum AUP regarding the discussion of banned members. For the purpose of the thread lets assume it was posted anonymously ;) . I was unsure whether to start this thread but it was just too funny to miss.

I'm fascinated by the idea of non-ferrous steel.

What is this Mana mania? Is buying Mana a bit like joining the Moonies?

    oops

I too am fascinated as to this new dicovery of "non-ferrous steel...."
with that single statement this guy has completly undermined his status on the subject. And what is this all about?....

It's amazing how much power gets soaked up when an amplifier is having to amplify distortion.

When we were at Stafford the other weekend putting on that musical event I had the power-amps on a stainless steel rack and Reuben seemed to be puzzled and remorked on how much cooler the amplifiers were running.
    I said nothing

Yes, I would have said nothing too....

I'd be inspired too if I heard a stainless steel rack reproduce the sound of piano with gobsmacking realism. Then I'd call for help.

I dont understand why he just doesnt get better equipment rather than putting it on ever higher piles of metal and glass.

Yes, equipment supports do make a difference IME, but you have to keep it in proportion.

Still, I guess this has been discussed over and over again and nothing has changed so there is no more to say.

Now Robbo you just can't do this to us, not yet converted newcomers, we were looking forward to a good brawl :D

Are the guys who take the trouble to write this sort of c**p simply gullible, plain dishonest, over-enthusiastic or shareholders ?

What edge?, cried the lemmings. :)

I always thought magnetic stainless steel was harder to obtain, that's why our new hob (an induction one) required steel pans, die cast, or "Magnetic" stainless steel, now given that most stainless steel pots on the market won't work on induction hobs, and that the ones that do are much more expensive(still it's a great way to cook, pots don't get warmed by ring, they get warmed by food,.....anyway), I would suggest that the magnetic variety is rarer, the reason they cost more is that he can charge what he likes and the Manaphools will all by, he's probably added into his business plan, Right ***, £9,000, old stuff, oh £12,000 from him ****, £xxxxxx thousand.....you get the picture, I suggest if anyone has some money to invest, they stick it with JW, he's even got IT at Linn beat IMHO.

Non magnetic stainless is easy to obtain. The very low quality of stainless is magnetic and also will rust. Higher grades neither rust or magnetise.

Surely no one ever took my "best digital source known to man" comments completely seriously? I know I didn't ;)

Why? This is quite different and referring to one particular acolyte's views on a new Mana product.

Guys - please don't refer to banned members. If that isn't going to be possible then I'll have to close the thread. We can't have an AUP and then let people break it when it suits us.

    Michael.
