    Michael,

the forum looks weird. The text looks like it's a faded photo copy, only the icons etc. look normal. My bad or something wrong with the forum.

Nahh, that's the content you're thinking of, not the look.

It looks fine here Markus. Did you change your Internet settings? There are some websites out there which can change your 'text size' setting.

Looks fine here. Can you post a screenshot? If you don't have anywhere to host it then e-mail it to me:

Markus, the easiest way to do a screenshot would be to get the forum up in your browser window and then hit the 'Print Screen/Sys Req' key (found at the end of the function keys next to 'Scroll Lock' and 'Pause/Break' on most keyboards). Then open up your usual image editing software, even MS Paint will do and paste the grabbed screenshot into a new document. Then just resize it if necessary and post it. Hope that was an easy explanation to follow. Any problems just ask.

Done it; hitting the key had no effect at all.

Uh, image editing software? I just use my computer as a glorified typewriter. It looks like I'll have to either get a program from somewhere or have somebody with more experience than me look at my computer.

Update: must be something wrong on my end. The Naim forum view is similarly afflicted, but PFM and Mana are fine. Weird.

I found a way to get a screenshot into a Word document. Now I need the e-mail adress to send it to.

Edit: found Michaelab's e-mail addy, screenshot it on its way. Thanks for the help everybody.

Thanks for the screenshot Markus. Erm....it looks fine to me

    What does everyone else think:

    http://www.luacheia.com/misc_images/markus_screen.doc

(it's inside a Word doc and I didn't want to mess around with it)

Since there's been some inevitable resizing of the image to fit into the Word doc there's some "out of focus" look but that seems to be affecting the whole screen, not just the browser so I'm assuming it's just a resizing artefact.

    Michael.

The out of focus stuff is what I've been calling weird. The user name and the message are fine, but the stuff below the name (member staus, number of posts etc.9 are out of focus.

Your signature line is blurred, too, as is the "Last edited ..." line in this post.

Edit: I'm off now for a couple of days. Will get to the root of this later.

    Do you have cleartype enabled?

To check, go to start..... control panel...... display...... Appearance tab..... effects.

If you have you should see the text "cleartype" in a white drop down box, and there should be a little tick above it.

If you do have this enabled, do you have an LCD monitor? If not, click the down pointing arrow next to the text "cleartype" and instead click standard.

Click OK and then OK and it should change. If not then I'm out of ideas at the moment.

Think you've got your tabs mixed up there Paul :)

My 'Effects' tab doesn't have a 'Cleartype' option.

It does however have 'Smooth edges of screen fonts'. If you have that selected, try turning it off.

yeah, just get a hammer - make sure it's a metal one, and gently tap your screen...about 4 times should do the trick!

He could have no monitor at all and it wouldn't affect the way a screen dump looked ;)

I don't see how that helps

However, any screen effects in use would show up in the screen dump :bookworm:

So it isn't screen effects. Therefore I deduce that Markus' monitor (or possibly the graphics card) is the cause of the blurring :slayer:

What I meant was that anything you can see in the screen dump isn't the result of a monitor problem.

At first I thought it looked like an LCD monitor not running at native resolution...but then I realised that of course wouldn't show in a screen dump ;)

However, since Markus says that PFM and Mana are fine it's unlikely to be a monitor issue. Potentially a CSS (cascading style sheets) issue but I'm clutching at straws there.
