nice vintage. recently serviced. bought very recently, but not required. Cosmetically in beautiful condition.

If you pick it up you can have it for free.

My dad has a deck like that that looks identical except it's made by Pioneer - he bought it new in Tehran in 1978  . All the switches and dials are exactly the same. The only difference is that the Pioneer has a domed plastic cover over the tape area tha swings up so you have to put the tape into position manually rather than the more conventional looking "tray" in the Hitachi.

So the japs were into this rebadging lark in the 70s already then?

Why the big give away then Dino? There are a few things on eBay I'd quite like - could you buy them and then give them to me? :D

    Michael.

I think the one above is actually a 1978 model IIRC.

I've retired on ebay. So you will have to buy it yourself then i will forward you the cash :D

Just a continuation of my slim fast plan. I'm too lazy to sell the stuff these days, so might as well give it away as a freebie to someone who might hopefully enjoy it. :)

I'd like to take you up on your offer please. Where are you located - please send me a PM.

it does indeed look like a Pioneer - I have a Pioneer SX 450 receiver still in service at my daughter's flat.

I responded to a similar 'free offer' with a Sugden A48, which is now with a diving buddy who has retired and her amp went fizzle.

I have a silver Akai HXR40 (?) auto reverse tape deck as well which i'll chuck in with it. Works perfect. Fascia very good. Top is a bit scratched though.

I'm in Langley Berkshire, Ditton :) Is that any good.

I have a tuner you can have as well, to make it worth the trip :)

    better and better ...

as you can see I'm in Edinburgh, but as it happens the mother-in-law is near Reading, which means that I do visit. I was to have been in the area tomorrow but for reasons to exciting to mention I'll be in Leeds instead.

On the matter of tuners I am interested, and am twiddling with an aged Sugden T48 as we speak. what do you have?

I'm off to comsult map on the whereabouts of Langley - I seem to recall something secret about it - but maybe that was the Cousins!

I work in Reading so maybe i can make it easier for you :) collect at my work, or i'll meet you.

The tuner i have is nothing special but is very clean. I can't remember much about it, as i have never really used it. Unfortunately i am at work at the moment, so it is not at hand to get more details.

I have another one which i will advertise seperately which is very good though, and is my favourite out of all the tuners i have had in the past. A luxman t-111.

I will be advertising that for £20, it would be criminal to give it for free.

The other one you can have for nowt though :)

So two tape decks and a tuner await in Reading.

Whenever is convenient for you sir.

    cheers
