I'm planning on getting my brother a freeview box.

He's mentioned it before and recently mentioned wanting a radio tuner, so thought might as well get him a freeview box which will also let him listen to the radio stations on it.

I've got Pioneer DBR TF100 which does the job nicely, but is it possible to get something (without a MOnthly contract) that has built in recording options?

I'm not really up to date with what's available, or where things currently stand.

So any info and recommendations appreciated.

I have the Humax PVR9200T, which is about £190, and has a 160GB HDD. Very pleased with it after a year. Depending on the multiplexes, you can record two channels and watch a third; also record radio onto the HDD.
