    For sale my Beresford TC-7520 DAC with LM4562NA OPAMP upgrade.

    It is as good as new, boxed, 3 1/2 months old.

    I have upgraded the stock opamps to LM4562NA DIL DUAL OpAmps IC, as recommended by Stan Beresford. These were sold by yp53 on eBay.

    This unit has the new Dual Power Supply (DPS), especially designed for Beresford, 100V AC to 260V AC, 50 & 60Hz.

    Let me point out a couple of things.

    I have decided to part with the Beresford after having performed extensive comparisons with the BM's DAC1. And to be honest Beresford held up well as a DAC. Yes, it had a different sonic signature to DAC1; some instruments (eg percussion, bass) have felt more pronounced and separated; So maybe a meatier / juicier sound than the DAC1; however, at much louder listening volumes DAC1 was becoming a winner - distortion-free sound became more apparent;

    The 7520 is definitely not as good as DAC1 when it comes to HeadAmp & Preamp sections; But as a DAC - it's pretty impressive. I was able to use DAC1’s Headamp to test the 7520’s DAC by connecting them with analogue RCAs (DAC1 HDR is also a preamp with analogue inputs).

    I am keeping DAC1 for its DAC/PRE/Headamp quality combo + XLR output + HDRs remote functionality; well, one should not forget its X10 price tag over the 7520! Hope that puts things into perspective.
