Sorry - not worth it: Better off buying a new one. Anyway, why don't you trade it in with the cornflake shop? If youre upgrading they should offer you a fair deal.

well, no, actually you'd be £150 worse off buying a new one, & you'd have to run it in (new Apollos need considerable running-in before they sound their best), and this is as new. Frankly, not worth selling for any less.

It's not only about money. There is the question of the guarantee: Whether it is transferable. Whether, if a fault develops, the Cornflake Shop will deal with it as I am not their customer. Plus neither you nor the shop are conveniently located for me.

If I buy new I get the benefit of a full guarantee, a full demo, a home trial. Besides there is always the risk when buying second-hand that the unit has been misused or damaged in some way you can't see. For all these reasons, I'd never pay more than 65% of the new price.

with CDPs and so many issues with their reliability, and especially with rega apollo - known for a good sound and notorious for glitches and troubles that come and go, appear now and later and so on - i'm afraid we are even close to 50%

350 pounds is a dealer's price for a s/h unit with a full guarantee and a home demo.
