Legendary, stunning British Engineering, More Details to follow 50 wpc EL34 based 958 Monoblocs and matching Valve 918 Pre-amp. Total of 22 valves!
    Stunning immaculate mercury chrome finish.

Preamp: "This model marks the start pf the Trilogy Reference series. The circuit topology utilises six double triodes, with four independent high performance regulators using both valves and FETs. The 918 will be coveted by the music lover."

Monoblocs: "The monobloc design enables enables the 958 to have separate power supplies, enhancing the sound staging, air and authority of the performance. The construction is second to none. Whilst the timeless good looks have meant no cosmetic changes, development of the acoustic performance has taken a significant step forward in the last year using triode coupled EL34 output valves. In stunningly beautiful mercury finish. Those who prefer the sound of triodes will no doubt appreciate the musical virtues of this design."

Around £6350 new assuming you could have got them, all from around 1990 immaculate. £2750 firm after some very careful consideration. The relaunch of Trilogy with benchmark products will no doubt see the starting price of these stunning original units soar. Get something unique. I won't split this as its very rare to get the pre and mono's together.

These are NOT the reference monoblocs, as there were only 20 pairs in the world, but these are the closest most will get. Good mains cables make these sing.

Worth EVERY penny. Considering Downsizing to a good integrated forces a very reluctant sale. The preamp recently had a new switch, the hifi bloke said he'd heard £20k pre's that didn't sound as good, and hated the thought of giving it back. Great Eye Candy too! Shown in the gallery is my previous 902 pre-amp, the one I'm selling looks even nicer - the 918 shares the same chassis so looks similar to this. Obviously it has 918 on the front! This took a lot of finding, as again like the amps is quite rare. From a repair point though Trilogy has nothing too unusual.

    Now reduced £2750.

Can't get lower than this! An absolute bargain. Lovely stuff.
Will meet halfway motorway, or buyer collects (Bolton, Lancs) rather not trust a courier with just short of £6.5k of kit! Have original boxes for the monoblocs. Audition subject to clearing with the girlfriend!

any best offer over £2,200 WILL WIN this auction - I am a very silly person. This is Outrageously good value, anyone after a good combo would have to be seriously nuts not to buy Trilogy kit, even you posh guys for that second system. The pre and powers work so well together, in addition to looking drop dead gorgeous. Come on - renew my faith that there are people out there that appreciate the finer things. Don't forget you are getting BOTH!! If you don't like em, sell them for what you paid.

    legitimate bump! :D

Come on, you know you need this fabulous kit. Put my new valve integrated on last night, didn't hold a candle to this. Wheres my lushness gone? - oh yes, its gone here - and is now up for sale.

Any questions, waverers? - need help to jump off the high diving board of hifi and spend just a tiny bit over 2k for a silly bargain?

    Hi Shrink,

I don't get it, I'm still buying, I think theres a lot of spin making this situation far worse than it actually is, okay housing market is stagnant, petrols gone up and a groceries a little more, but as a company (and I'm in advertising) we've never had more new business... Generally from experience the first thing people cut back on is sales materials and advertising, and get into that siege mentality. We are being approached by firms however on a daily basis. I'm speaking from the coal face rather than the gaffers plush office incidentally.

I can certainly feel something funny in the air though, as my stuff just isn't selling. I have noticed my card company trying to sneak another 5% interest on, and I got turned down for a loan, for the first time ever... so maybe there is something going on. Sub prime anyone?

i think the odd thing is that companies in an attempt to avoid panic of sorts, are trying to advertise more, banks are trying to sell more, everyone is trying to make more money in a bad situation, so its not surprising you've had more work.

But i think joe public is keeping their hands well away from their pockets.

We learned to spread the net a little wider, me and my colleagues worked for agencies that had one or two main clients in businesses such as vehicle hire or wine or construction. When they felt the pinch, we went bust! Like you say Shrink, its a bit different out there at the mo, and I guess they must be advertising their way out of a hole.

Amps still for sale - godammit... ;) Joe Public could yet make a killing!

NOW £2050, if you listen carefully you can probably hear me sobbing. This price reflects the grim minimum I can accept and cover my ebay fees. This really is lovely stuff.

Right... final punt, as I'm hacked off with ebay. I will get the most lovely pics you've ever seen on here tomorrow of this totally stunning kit.

£6350 (at 1990 prices) £1850 all in. Will meet half way UK mainland. This totally trounces my £3k modern integrated 300b amp, but I need the room. You get the 918 pre-amp and the glorious pair of triode output el34 monoblocks. I'm getting quite emotional now... so will have to stop typing... sniff.

You can look at the crappy pics here for the time being

    Thanks Samantha :)

It really is the "little old fella that went hard of hearing" story, which came courtesy of the hifi shop I got them from, he said they were mint, and the mono's even have their original boxes and bias tool. I've never driven them hard as I have a small flat.

A friend of mine who sells high end hifi was not surprised that my modern amp didn't compete he said the Trilogys would probably be nearer to 10 or 12k in todays money, as raw materials are a lot more expensive of late. I really love these but need to downsize a bit. Someone will love them out there, I really will miss them. There is a synergy with the pre and powers in Trilogy kit that is difficult to explain but just sounds natural... did that sound hippy?
