    Afromosia, haha.

FWIW, I agree that the Ekos seems only a tiny step forward from the Ittok, but I never did a proper A-B demo, so I could be wrong about that. I've never heard the Ekos sounding as good as the Aro, but that's just an impression, again, no A-B.

The motor is not below the platter - the rubber band driver shows this - and its not under the cartridge either. Diagonally opposite, in fact, when the cartrige is in use. No motor noise discernable by me.

Bub - In all fairness how many decks have you heard. Now linns are different but I have heard the modern top spec. I also beleive the limitations come from its fundamental construction so exact tweaks or differences dont alter these issues.

Mike - tot up what you have spent incrementally. You could have tratdd in early on then upgraded another deck. I dont doubt the upgrades improved matters you might perhaps have got more improvement for the same money down a different path. Did you listen to any other decks when you bought the first iteration?

Exactly... a small bit here and there adds up to the cost of a rockport in 15 years ;) thats how linn appear to work. what is it worth? less than a grand?

well a dual is hardly a fair comparison. I assume you are teasing me ;P

You would be surprised how much those linn upgrades add up to over the decades!

Seriously the cheaper rockports were much less ;-)
