How come the World hasn't noticed this fatal flaw with the LP12 & "female vocal", Marco?

Same reason they keep voting in politicians and never learn.

Alexs WT I am willing to bet will demolish the linn. Did you compare the two decks in the same system? The orbe will also beat the linn.

<< Alex's WT >> Apart from the deck, arm, cart and phono stage its still the same. The fifty quid's been worth it.

The Aro is good at female vocals.

BBV - I bet bub I wouldn't change the system - but then I broke the xx2 and a Classic sort of landed.

It should do being a unipivot and removing the linn arm character. However the treble and bass suffer. Its just papering over the cracks.

Alex - did you compare with bubs deck? What did you think?

it all goes back to the 1970's when the lp12 came about then it revolutionised the lp sound but times have changed, that really sums it up.

Woopdeedeedooo - the Devil's final word! I have one thing to say about that: DILLIGAF.

Of course, I forgot, I have to like someone ELSE'S idea of sound, not my own. Of course, how stupid of me, and how presumptuous of me to actually have my OWN opinion of what I like or don't like.

I best go and buy an LP12 now, so I don't feel really small.

I've repeatedly said that I've heard 2 Linn decks that I've liked, but I don't think they're worth the money. I've heard more that I don't like. They just don't do it for me. Sorry and all that - if you can't accept someone slagging an LP12, well that's just too bad.

As for knowing about cars? Why would I need to know - I can't drive one, and could care less about them (barring all their sodding polution, erosion of the countryside, and the tools who drive cars with engines that are too large for the need).

Actually - I'd be up for hearing BOTH decks as well - if yours is as good as Alex S's or better, I might take back what I said about the LP12, as I'll be scraping my jaw off the floor. None of the LP12s I've heard are fit to clean the stylus of Alex's deck - even the two LP12s I did like.

Your deck must be amazing indeed...
