    Hurrah!
I am not the only one!
Mebbe my aversion to Michell decks is because I worked in Borehamwood for 5 years?
Tis a well dodgy place, and obviously their TTs reflect this. They might playback what's on a record, but they certainly don't make music..

    Oy oy...
The Guzzi has been extensively tuned by Raceco to give 95 rear wheel horses... Not bad for a '74 pushrod twin that'll outdrag a CBR600!
I've got a tuned Norton Commando on the way as well - so none of yer Plastic Fantastic Power Ranger nonsense.

Mebbe, but it'll also take my licence away, possibly kill me, and still be deeply uncool.

I don't think that DC is a scam. the ac supply will derive the speed from the frequency. so if your supply is not bang on 50Hz the record will be slightly off speed, and any slow fluctuation in mains freq will affect the speed as well. fast fluctuations should be absorbed by the platter inertia.

    That's just Top Trumps talk...
The R1 squeals like a stuck pig and invariably has a Born Again sitting astride it in matching leathers.
How can that be at all cool?
And it makes it too darn easy to go too fast - what you want is a 180 Laverda Jota. That'll give you some wrestling practice!!!

As I said on page whatever, there's no more Brand Loyal owner than a Guzzi owner.
They might be slow and agricultural, but they're my slow and agricultural. Well, quite quick actually, but still ancient in design..

It's amazing how much some people will pay for a power supply, when you look at the insides - a couple of cheap components. The companies that shift these must make a wedge.

will do, though changing my Quad 306s for a s/h pair of Gamma Aeons is next on my list before I go down that route. have only just gone for the Orbe upgrade to the Gyro. so it will probably have to happen later, rather than sooner. also as I'd be sans plinth for a while as they drill out the perspex for the standalone DC motor I might just opt for the spider chassis.

Anyway, if you have any sense you'll not believe my ears and have to hear it for yourself to be sure ;) . as I said before it will largely depend on the quality of your mains as to how much difference you hear between ac motor and dc.
also I've done the blu-tac mod. takes the gyro to another dimension...

they are . these company bosses are all bloody wealthy. sme's boss is a multi millionaire.
and you right power supplies are a rip off plain and simple, if you part with 400 quid you EXPECT a gain yes but it has never happened to me yet. jesus the lingo is around 1000 quid these people must be ----ing crazy to pay that.
