Just strangely similar posting style... rapid, lower case, multiple small responses, free form spelling....

Mike - that sort of input is not necessary.

I take it that means ye'v checked then :D

Sorry Issac couldn't resist, I will say something though, your earlier warning about multiple posts was not lost on those of us who know your position on this board, but perhaps a clue in the post would help other new folks understand. ;)

Question to the sane people here: is there anything in the last 15 pages or so that is worth reading?

From a quick scan, I get the impression it is the most blatant case of bb noise pollution since ... since ... oh, I don't know, even BBV's barrage of posts on PFM had a better S/N ratio.

Nah, 85 posts a day? Even BBV himself didn't quite manage that at PFM

I've tried the blutack tweak on my gyro armboard too. It certainly alters the sound, but I'm not convinced it's better... I keep re-aplying it every few weeks, and still cant decide.
What definately does help is the tension of all the bolts holding the thing together... just tight enough to stop it falling off sounds better to me=) When the bolts are too tight the sound does get "pinched", seems sterile and lifeless, compared to the "just nipped up" music.
Any comments on the benefits of the orbe platter upgrade to gyros? I'm still saving up for that one....

Mike - just because theres a difference doesnt mean its better! The cost of the lingo doesnt justify the performance increase - the money could be spent on upgrading the linn to a much better deck that already has a good psu.

Wadia - play less D&D you are too old ;-)

Markus - I averaged a mere 17 posts a day thanks. Far less than many others and with a far higher info content. Including yours!

i would say the price of a lingo would get you a far better deck, arm and cartridge .that would blow away ANY lp12 no matter what spec it is, buy far ,my old planer 3 blew my top lp12 into oblivion. now a project or ol would destroy an lp12 easily

possible i would think. i know a technics sl200 we compaired to a top flight lp12, and the technics walked it every time under blind listening and that was with 3 untrained ears.
