Funny noises about LP12's coming from the Private ads section

    No it just looks that way.

    RAM buffer is memory - the cd stream is stored in ram via the digital o/p and then reclocked and resent to the dac digital i/p. You get a small delay according to the amount of buffering used. Chord use this principle. By using a large enough buffer and a very good clock the effects of the transport are removed. Its like a queue for the data.

    perhaps thats why i like the arcam because of the ring dac. which is meant to be warm sounding(which it is) but still harsh sounding if that makes sense.

    do you have a surround set up? sacd and dvd-a are aweful on surround sound. truly awefull. i use a 3 grand pioneer ax10i amp. on movies it is great but dvd-a i'll give it a miss thankyou.

    for a cheap player it's ok.
    i borrowed a linn cd12 a year or two back. awefull. marantz awefull, cyrus awefull, naim ok. but to much money. oh and a rega planet, awefull

    do you know something i am not convinced about this surround sound myself. sometimes i put it on stereo when watching a film and it sounds much better, another hyped up thing maybe?

    i may go back to a good old stereo amp. my friend with the rockport(who is a dealer aswell) recomended the jadis orchestra to me. have you heard one?
    he says it is one serious piece of kit and.

    you are so on my wave length. there is pepole out there who say i am crazy when i say these things. lp12's surround etc, but i know i am right .jesus i have been listening to music for 30 years and have so many systems in that time, and borrowed some expensive gear to boot. and do you know when you tell pepole the truth they don't like it.

    i think some pepole spend so much on their systems ,that they are unhappy with, but try to convince themselves they have made the right decision

    my amp and dvd cost 4 grand apart from a great picture on the dvd. i think it is a waste of money. but you tell someone that and they deffend it.
    i think the gyro sme was my greatest purchase, i would say it is the ONLY thing i have bought and immediatley thought wow, and after 8 years i am still getting enjoyment out of it

    I should warn you I have modifed the tonearm to carry a miniture howitzer. The ammunition are special distortion seeking missiles that destroy anything that sounds the least bit wiry!
