corr, I am not alone in thinking some of that, not me, but I have slight similar views. :D I wouldn't put it quite so undiplomatically though.
I wonder if they will pull them.
I recall not too long ago, someone else said something about the missing link, they seemed to hate them, calling them the missing stink and all that...quite amusing.

It's that apparent total lack of any kind of moderation of the ads on HFFS that would make me very wary of using the site. If they let through blatant advertising (eg by the missing link) and the counter "posts" then what guarantee do you have that anything on their is genuine?

I'd only ever buy from there by meeting the seller in person.

    Michael.

    Michael,

Trade avertisers have to pay for their ads. I have used the site a couple of the times and have been pleased with it.

I've bought and sold quite a lot of stuff through the site with no problems. Most of the regular sellers there seem to turn out to be regular forumites too, either lurkers or posters.

I have bought a good bit of stuff off it and never had a problem. Most hifi types are very nice decent types, and it doesn't on the whole seem to attract bad ones.

Whenever I've used the site I've been completely and utterly plagued by spam. Had to change my email once as a result.

hmm apart from the menace of crawlers, (and anyone who has written one should be shot!!) I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of these companies actually sell email addresses on.

no idea, a friend told it me, I thought it was quite profound. He thought it was bloomin obvious, but I see more in it.

It's a quote written in the Captain's Quarters of the Enterprise D (or possibly the brdige? not sure). It's originally from a cult movie called The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension that the Star Trek creators seem to like.

    I think it's a rather good quote, m'self.
