Regarding who the best is; this would come down to which generation you are as much as anything. I grew up hooked on Maradona, I thought the guy was the best thing on the planet. He was just amazing in the '86 world cup and took Napoli all the way to the top. Then again my grandad (who has been going to games since the early 20's) says they're all fairies compared to Tom Finney, Stan Mathews etc etc.

 

Zidane was one of the greatest for me. Watching him play really improved my own game when I played alot at uni. I think in Rooney we have a player kids will learn alot from by watching him play. As long as he keeps that temper in check as he did against Argentina which I think was a great illustration of his talents.

2 off them have acknowledged Best as the greatest player ever,the other,De Stefano,is still bitter about Best running rings around him several times for Utd.

All great players the ones mentioned above,but imho only Maradonna could do what Best could do (ie dip a ball differing amounts depending on which lace he hit it off) but Maradonna is a fat little scrote who cheated us out of a world cup so be default he comes second to Best.

Was not aware Puskas had said G Best was the best player ever. Mind you Puskas did spend most of world war 2 in a work camp, i think he only played in spain after he was 30.

 

Why are Man U making out as if G Best was Mr Man U he never went to Old Trafford for years, he wasn't welcome.
